Up to 500 000 golf tourists may visit Bulgaria each year

Golf tourists, who visit Bulgaria may very soon reach 500 000 per year, head of the world organization of golf journalists Yusi Yakonkari said as quoted by radio Focus-Varna.

According to Yakonkari, Bulgaria has the potential for golf tourism development. Golf courses in Bulgaria maintain low prices which turns the country into an attractive golf destination.

A week-long vacation in a golf complex in Bulgaria costs on the average 30 percent less in comparison to prices in Turkey.

Golf tourists, who preferred Bulgaria, come mostly from Europe and especially from the UK, Sweden and Finland, where the summer is shorter.

Yakonkari recommended golf courses in Bulgaria to amend infrastructure and to work on marketing.
